THE BRIEF

Rochdale Borough Council is a public sector local authority with a vision to make a positive change in their local community. Rochdale were coming to the end of their 3-year warranty on their Lenovo kit. A number of screens and keyboards needed replacing across the fleet, so they were considering the option of replacing the kit against purchasing brand new Lenovo devices.

Rochdale’s Account Manager, Camille, works hard to ensure she understands their business needs and objectives, including supporting budget and sustainability goals by prolonging the life span of their current fleet. Such as using refurbished IT parts to extend their current devices’ life cycle instead of simply replacing with brand new devices, allowing them to meet sustainability goals. Also having an internal IT team, meant that this was a viable option for Rochdale as they had the resource and skills to update the devices themselves.

Looking at stock availability and time scales, Camille was able to secure the correct parts Rochdale needed and to help Rochdale with the project management, we were able to stagger the roll out of the kit. This meant the internal team at Rochdale council could work on a number of items in bulk and get these back out to users within the organisation before the next batch landed. Having minimal impact on the employees and completing the project successfully, in a reasonable timeframe. This project is a clear signal to why refurbished IT equipment is quickly becoming an option for businesses and individuals across all sectors. Offering various advantages, making it a smart and sustainable choice for all. It was a great opportunity to work with Rochdale to help them make a positive change internally.
